This wine from family owned Bodega de Mateos, located in the world famous La Rioja, is elaborated using the 4 traditional grape varieties grown in La Rioja: 70% Tempranillo, 22% Grenache, 5% Mazuelo and 2% Graciano grapes coming from 40 years old vines.
It's bright ruby in colour, very clean. It has an intense and complex presence in the nose, with black fruits, such as blackberries and blueberries, aroma, as well as hints of lavender, dill and rosemary. Other fragances such as balsamic wood, vanilla, coconut, cloves and dark chocolate are present. It demonstrates personality and character when in the mouth. Its hints of balsamic wood and minth enhance the black fruit compote (such as maraschino cherries) flavors. Oak is also present, thanks to 14 months in French and American oak barrels.
Perfect to pair with red meats, stews, cured meats and cured cheeses.
